Alaska Airlines has set rules/guidelines for the passengers regarding their luggage weight, size, fees, and items. If you consider flying with Alaska Airlines, you must pack your bags as per the Alaska Airlines baggage policy.

  1. The airline allows its passengers to bring one personal item and one carry-on bag along with them. As per the Alaska check-in policy, the personal item includes a purse, laptop bag, and small backpack.
  2. Make sure your carry-on bag must not exceed 22 x 14 x 9 (56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm), including the wheels and handle and must be put in the overbin.
  3. You can carry the items such as books and jackets in your personal item of size 17 x 10 x 9 (43 cm x 25 cm x 23 cm). Ensure that you have placed your personal item either in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.
  4. Irrespective of the ticket bought by you, you need to pay the check-in baggage fees to the airlines. The only exemption is the First class. If you have bought the tickets for first class, you are allowed the free checked baggage.
  5. You can bring the checked-in bag of maximum weight 23 kg/50 pounds, as per the Alaska Checked in baggage policy. Also, the checked-in baggage fees and the number of bags will depend upon the ticket type and the type of flight, i.e., domestic or international flight.
  6. If your checked-in and carry-on bag exceeds the standard weight and size, you must pay the additional fees.
  7. If you are carrying the musical instrument and the sports equipment with you, the airline must be notified in advance, and you must pay the fees accordingly.
  8. As a parent, you can bring your child's car seat or the stroller for free of cost. You can check them in along with your check-in bags at the counter.
